This is how I felt opening this morning.
I just don’t sleep well on Saturday night. I don’t know what it is, but I cannot fall asleep. So I listened to a podcast with Ashton Kutcher, which eventually lulled me to sleep. Might have gotten 4 hours. 5 tops.
I had a major win at Agava yesterday with vegan menu ideas and products. I brought them samples of Miyoko’s vegan mozzarella cheese and two different types of seitan, chorizo and bacon style. My manager seemed really into the whole idea, and the chef was also more receptive than I would have expected. Usually he’s not into things like this and wants to do what he wants to do. But, get this, I sent him the same email to my bosses about having a few great vegan dishes on the menu…and after deliberation, he thought I was right! CRAZY!
I hope they like the vegan cheese and the seitan works for what they are thinking. I know I enjoy it…and so do tons of vegans.
Speaking of vegans, I met my friend Jay at Ten Forward cafe yesterday for lunch. He is such a great guy and has two adorable Boston Terriers. We talked for over an hour and he was just as friendly as I remember. He is so happy I am vegan again, but also, simply that we reconnected. Hopefully lunches together become a thing.
Whew, I am actually wiped right now (2:30PM on a Sunday) so I’m going to watch an Episode of Rotten on Netflix that my boss told me to, and relax.
